What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a system of therapies based upon the theory that disease is caused by abnormal function of the nervous system. It attempts to restore normal function by hands-on manipulation and treatment of the structures of the body, especially those of the spinal column.
Traditional chiropractic methods remove subluxations from the spine or any joint in the body by realigning the bones that make up that particular joint. Subluxations (bone misalignments) compress nerves, causing dysfunction in the body, often leading to disease and symptoms such as pain and immobility.
The basic philosophy of chiropractic is that the body will heal itself, when the right doors are unlocked.
Chiropractic is an extremely safe and effective healing art in restoring your body to its full potential. It helps you overcome all types of ailments ranging from sore muscles and achy joints to more serious health problems. It is one of the safest and most non-invasive healing methods that gives the greatest therapeutic effect on your body. The treatment methods Dr. Sherman uses are determined by each individual’s needs and range from traditional chiropractic manipulations to low-force techniques.
